We are located at the Kane County Government Center at 719 Batavia Avenue in Geneva, Illinois 60134, in Building A, on the ground floor in the Division of Environmental and Water Resources Office, Suite #109.
Ongoing services provided:
The Kane County Recycles office maintains, evaluates, improves, and expands opportunities for reuse, recycling and waste diversion in Kane County. Recycling programs focus on: electronics, books, paint, confidential document destruction, fluorescent tubes, as well as other hazardous materials and hard-to-recycle materials. Additionally household recycling, commercial/business recycling and yard waste/organics composting and the sale of backyard compost bins. This office publishes the annual
Kane County Recycles Green Guide, maintains the comprehensive Kane County Recycles webpages and offers information on the Kane County
Leaf Burning Regulations. This office oversees the
Recycling and Hauler Licensing Ordinance 95-157, which requires commercial businesses and multi-family residences to recycle, and provides the provisions for hauler licensing and reporting. For more information on the ordinance please see this

The County Recycling Coordinator oversees the implementation and updates of the Kane County Solid Waste Plan, as required by state mandate (415 ILCS 15/6).
Kane County Recycles is part of the Division of Environmental and Water Resources, which is responsible for implementing the countywide
Stormwater Management program, the
Kane County Recycles recycling and waste recovery programs, the
electric aggregation program, the
Sustain Kane programs, and other resource conservation and environmental projects.
